Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahrmatullahi Wa Barakatuhu
Toronto Islamic Centre is a mosque in the heart of downtown Toronto, serving a large and diverse Muslim community. To establish a permanent Islamic presence in downtown Toronto with a mosque and facilities to meet the religious, social and intellectual needs of Muslims and non-Muslims alike.
Over twenty years ago a team of brothers who were devoted to Islam had a dream. This dream was to spread the spirit and knowledge of Islam and inviting people into this perfect faith. By working with the limited manpower and recourses however, the brothers knew they needed to establish an Islamic centre where they would have the proper space, materials and manpower in order to fulfill their dream of Da’wah work among the Non-Muslims.
After several years of ongoing search, sincere intention and unbreakable dedication, the team of committed brothers were successful in attaining just the bare minimum funds to finally open a long awaited resource centre where all their Da’wah purposes could be carried out.

We would like to introduce to you the newly founded Toronto Islamic Centre (TIC). It is located in probably the busiest commercial district, Yonge and Bloor. Also known as the heart of downtown Toronto. TIC was recognized and officially opened on April 1st 2010. After many years of struggle and longing, the team of dedicated brothers had finally reached closer to their dream. They have chosen to open this centre in Yonge and Bloor because it provided them better potential to reach out to people of all backgrounds. The heart of downtown Toronto just seemed like the perfect place to convey the true message of Islam. TIC was established not only to pursue humanitarian activities but all sorts of community based services on a weekly bases. However the intention is only to please Allah (swt) by spreading the divine knowledge of Islam and establishing a stronger brotherhood through these Da’wah activities.
Unfortunately, TIC is a very small in space which limits the accommodation of all services. Due to insufficient space, further funding is required in order to maintain the existing TIC (because it is a rented space). Additionally, we have established a new project to expand the TIC by opening a new building that will be owned (not rented) by TIC in order to execute our Da’wah activities to the best of our capability.
Brothers and sisters, in order to fulfill these projects we are in need of six million dollars (CAD) as early as possible. Therefore, we are very much hopeful that you would be kind enough to stretch your helping hands towards this noble cause in the noble month of Ramadan. InshAllah, you will get immense reward in this world and in the world to come. The Prophet Mohammed (pbuh) said: “Whoever builds a Masjid seeking the pleasure of Allah, Allah will build a house for him in Jannah” (Bukhari).
