Yeah! I agree with Gulshanin, Honor killing is not part of Islam. People of the west needs to get educated about orientalizm. In the west, arabs/muslims are views as barbaric (as the orientalizm teaches us). So, when ever anything goes wrong with arabs/muslims, islam is in attack. We have to understand, these violent acts are done every where in the whole world, women are in attack in everywhere. Domestic violence is common in every ethnic group. Honor killing is a form of domestic violence, which should be element from our society. Honor killing shouldn't be taken as an act to racialise muslims to attack them. Why islam has to be attacked when islam has nothing to do with any kind of violence. The media should spend more time to educate Canadians to bring equality in our society, rather than corning muslims by classifying some violence with a name that attacks muslims & islam. Media also should spend more time in all kind of domestic violence that exits in our community (eg. wife battering, domestic rape, exploitation of children, date rape etc).

Excuse me, but "honour killings" are a concept which evidently only occurs in Islamic cultures. The reaction of Moslems to this horror, ie focusing on "it's not Islam", rather than the actual facts of the crime, is awful. Just awful.

If a Muslim is not ready to sacrifice his or her life for the deen of Allah, they should NOT vie for leadership. If a Muslim is not ready to sacrifice his or her life for the deen of Allah they should be kicked out of leadership positions!!! And yes, I know, the spooks know, I know that the spooks know and the spooks know that I know that they know that they are watching me and I'm watching them; so save those threats.

These fatwas are proof that the Muslims in leadership positions in Canada are under duress and they are being bullied into submission to statements that are anti-Sharia! Of course, I'm NOT condoning the murder of those girls!!! That was wrong and culprits should be punished. That is one thing, and sweeping generalizations in phrases such as 'domestic violence,' albeit, the kafirs definition?!!! That's another thing.

Who's definition of domestic violence have these Imams signed up to? Allah's and Allah's Messenger's and the scholars of the pious generations or the definition of the nations of today that are hell-bent to defy and fight against Allah's do's and don'ts?!

The Honor killing is not at all an Islamic concept, it is anti-Islamic belief, but it goes back in pre-Islamic period thousands of years ago, since the time of Vedas-in Hinduism my ancestral community. Up until we came to the Western country we were not allowed to go out on a date, if as unmarried we were even seen talking to guys, the earth would rattle and all the ethnic communities would persecute the girls. Not only that the girls would be branded as Prostitute. It was the matter of ethics, and moral values, rooted in all the ethnic communities and still today carried on. It is unbelievable even after coming to Islam they are still practicing their previous cultural practices. Salaam/Peace ISLAMIC EDUCATION & REFERRAL SERVICES
