Islamic Relief present its second annual CN tower Edge Walk Challenge!
Actually there are two challenges. The first is being harnessed 1,168ft away from the ground and walking around the outside of the CN tower. The second challenge is to raise at least $1000 that will go towards providing medical aid and rehabilitating medical facilities in Palestine that were destroyed during the last set of hostilities.
Let’s take a walk outside. Not much of a challenge?!?! Well how about taking a walk on one of the the world’s tallest buildings, the CN tower! Yeah, that’s more like it. On September 8th, join a group of another 23 people who have each raised the same amount of money as they walk above the 360 restaurant of the CN tower.
The EdgeWalk experience begins on the ground level of the CN Tower at base camp. Once in the CN Tower’s main entrance, signage will direct Walkers through the retail store to the EdgeWalk entrance.
The Walk itself starts and ends on the south side of the main Tower pod, above the 360 Restaurant. The whole experience is 1.5 hour long with a 20-30 minute outdoor walk. Your ticket will include a keepsake video, photos, certificate of achievement and re-entry to CN Tower with a Total Tower Experience. You will be provided with a special Walk suit and you should wear fully enclosed athletic footwear such as running shoes with laces (not Velcro fasteners). Nonslip rubber soled enclosed shoes will be provided if the appropriate footwear is not worn. Prior to participating in EdgeWalk, walkers will be subject to screenings for narcotics, explosives and alcohol consumption. Walkers will also be subject to metal detection and physical pat down to remove all fall hazards. The only allowable personal article (other than clothing) on the EdgeWalk are eyeglasses. Other personal items such as cameras are not permitted on the Walk. Lockers are provided to store personal belongings. Walk leaders are equipped with digital cameras and all Walkers receive a complimentary video and photo of their experience.
