VITAMIN D - Let the Sunshine In
Vitamin D has been studied for its ability
to prevent cardiovascular disease, breast cancer, and colon
cancer and new research shows it might fight pancreatic cancer,
too.
According to Natural Health in April 2007,
during a September 2006 review of two long-term studies of
more than 120,000 adults, researchers observed that those
who got the recommended 400 IU/day of vitamin D had a 43 percent
lower risk of developing pancreatic cancer. (Exceeding 400
IU did not appear to have any additional benefit.) Pancreatic
cancer is the fourth leading cause of cancer deaths in the
United States.
