Most people can handle some level of personal stress. However, there are times in people’s lives when the stress demands more energy and resources than they feel they have available. Sometimes, when dealing with sensitive personal problems, people find that talking to an impartial person helps them gain a better perspective than talking to a friend or relative or if you simply cannot go on with things being the way they are… you are in the perfect place for change to happen!!
People come to counseling for many reasons:
ü Abuse and assault issues;
ü Academic engagement or direction;
ü Anxiety and mood problems(e.g. depression, suicidal thoughts);
ü Coping with grief or loss;
ü Relationships (family, extended family and others..);
ü Eating disorder /body image difficulties;
ü Self-confidence and self-esteem;
ü Transition in life;
ü Social functioning;
ü Dealing with racism.
This counseling services structure is based on the Client’s perspective, meaning, its client’s centered. The counselor and client will work together and talk about challenges and using your strengths towards attaining practical solutions and leading a balanced life. Being a member of OCSWSSW/OASW, I abide by their rules and regulations of their ethical guidelines.
Let’s have look what I offer!
Individual counseling is a process through which clients work one-on-one with a trained counselor—in a safe, caring, and confidential environment—to explore their feelings, beliefs, or behaviors, work through challenging or influential memories, identify aspects of their lives that they would like to change, better understand themselves and others, set personal goals, and work toward desired change.
Family counseling: brings together members of a family to work through situation or relationship issues. Concerns may include changes in family relationships, conflict, health issues, addiction or other. Counselors will help the family recognize their patterns, build on the positive and develop alternatives, providing all family members a voice in the process.
Couple counseling: is usually short-term counseling designed to help couples understand and resolve problems, dissatisfaction, and conflict in their relationship.
Telephonic Counseling: Telephone counseling can be offered in daytime, evenings and on weekends. This creates a wider flexibility for clients to choose the slot time that fits well into their lifestyle. I am offering a free consultation to talk about the practice, contracting, fees and a little bit about the nature of your concerns and issues. Appointments will be confirmed through email in writing. There is positive support available through both in person counseling as well as telephone support so people have different options to choose the support that works best for them.
