2006- Let's Do It Again!
Why do it in Pakistan?
Recent earth quake in Pakistan was a catastrophe
of immense proportion. Over 85,000 people perished. But the
fate of the survivors is just as critical.
Most large International Relief Organizations
never came or have already left. Thus helpless Muslims are
left to fend for themselves during this harsh winter with
little food and shelter.
MuslimServ has made arrangement with the Canadian
arm of Abdul Sattar Edhi Foundation, which is a duly registered
Canadian Charity. It also gets matching contribution from
CIDA. Therefore donations are doubled. Donations are tax deductible
and the receipt will be provided by MuslimServ.
Damage Caused
by the Earthquake:
- 86,000 deaths
- 8,000 schools destroyed
- 2,000 clinics and hospitals destroyed
- 3.3 million homeless
- More than 100,000 injured people
- 20,000 children handicapped
- 30 percent of the rice crop and
- 75 percent of the maize crop were lost
