Comment: I like to know if we can do something about getting halal food from all the resturant here in canada. For example if we can order halal chicken sandwiches from harveys or Mcdonals etc. i belive lots of muslim people lives in canada but we cant take advantage of the food here. some people dont go to these resturant(subway, harveys, burger kings) because they dont surve halal food or some people just eat chicken because halal chicken is not availabe. and their excuses are that its hard for them to go to special stores to eat food. also its really big problem in canada to eat food. you cant bring your lunch everyday from home to school, colleges, universties, and work placement. i understand that these types of resturant use same machine to cook vagi and meet, but if we all get together and let the companies knows that what we want. i guess we can get halah food in canada as well.

Comment: I was not able to make it to the confrence but as i have some ideas i would like to share.
The mosques in Canada should get together and find them self a neach in each of the main area. for example
1 mosque is providing employment related help.
2 one stop shop for new immigrant so each new immigrant can go and get a lot of info requires at one location.
3. Mosque dealing with media and guiding people towards how to achive better media presence in canada.
4. Have like 2% of the revenue from each mosque put towards establishing a media presence or towards some sort of unbrella body which look at the challanges of muslims in Canada and makes educational books, videos.
5. Have a web site on which (like this one) so that every one can contribute towards making a curriculum for the young/ non muslim /new muslim. so each web page can be developed for a certain need. Eg. Into to Islam for 2 to 3 yea old. then Into to Islam for 20 to 30 year old.
Then have experts maintain moniter the website and publish best material.
6. Muslims must be made to realize that we have to work hard, we have the resources if we put atleast 110% in every thing we do, then we can over come our problems.
7. Have a mosque just doing questionares and collecting data on musllims locallly and world wide so that our planners can use that info as a guide. eg. Lets say few mosques get together and say a 7 year old should have this knowledge about islam in general. Now this perticular mosque can do surveys finding out weather we have achieved this if not why not. And give feed back on making Web sites, videos and other material to the conserned / third mosque which will develop these materials.
8. Have a mosque looking deeply at the Ummah and study what are we doing wrong. Identify a goal lets say one hadith and go about how we can implement it. Just like the time of Sahaba (RA) they were very organized and each one identified different aspect of Prophet's (SAW) life and recorded it.
9. Divide the Hadith in chapters as they are divide up in Shahi Muslim etc. and have a group of population specialize in one topic. eg halal and haram.
10. The role of MSA should be increased. The students of ontario are constantly bombarded with negative images of Islam. We must focus on what can be done to turn this around.
11. Have goals short term and long term for muslims of each age. ie. it could be spend $x on reading/ buying islamic newspers.
$y invested in buying shares for halal slater house.
